Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer III is responsible for the development, design, analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of new and improved electrical systems and equipment. This role supports production, assembly, testing, and field installation environments while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
Create, interpret, revise, and maintain electrical drawings, technical specifications, bills of materials, and engineering documentation.
Design and develop electrical power equipment, drive systems, control systems, and related components.
Research, evaluate, test, and analyze electrical systems, components, and equipment.
Develop electrical designs using CAD and other engineering software.
Conduct feasibility studies, performance evaluations, and root cause analyses.
Review installation, operation, maintenance, and repair procedures to ensure compliance with specifications.
Collaborate with vendors, production teams, customers, and management regarding product specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
Create technical instructions for field modifications and testing requirements.
Lead design reviews and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA).
Monitor project schedules, task completion, and work breakdown structures.
Ensure engineering release packages meet quality and technical standards.
Support production and testing teams to resolve technical issues.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering personnel.
Communicate project status updates to cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Requirements
Master of Science degree from an ABET-accredited program or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology.
5–10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, AC/DC drives, controls, and electrical equipment.
Experience with CAD and engineering design software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong understanding of electrical schematics and circuit analysis.
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and related electrical codes and standards.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Valid driver's license and passport.
Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Skills
Experience with production, assembly, testing, and field installation environments.
Experience leading engineering projects and technical reviews.
Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting capabilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
Work performed in office, manufacturing, shop floor, and test environments.
Occasional travel to customer and supplier locations.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Occasional climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working around electrical equipment.
Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and industrial environments.
