Electrical Engineer
This full-time position reports to the Manager of Engineering and System Planning and is located at the Ed Fischer Operations Center, 8600 NE 117th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98662.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO:
This position works both independently and collaboratively within a small team responsible for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of substations, transmission and distribution facilities, utility material/construction standards, and the SCADA system. Duties included, but are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain, and enforce engineering standards, guidelines, and specifications for T&D equipment and protection systems, integrating wildfire mitigation practices to enhance safety, reliability, and grid resiliency.
- Analyze system performance and equipment failures to develop corrective action plans.
- Support capital project planning and execution by ensuring wildfire risk reduction, hardened infrastructure, and protection strategies are incorporated into project scopes.
- Develop engineering solutions, guides and training programs for design engineers, field crews, and operational staff on construction standards, materials, wildfire mitigation practices and new equipment or processes.
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with field crews, engineers, planners, vendors and other utilities to ensure compliance and practical application with best practices across the utility industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience with an electric utility or similar experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with others, including effectively presenting information, responding to questions from other employees and customers and having effective written and oral communication skills.

Employees will also receive eight hours of vacation leave and sick leave every month and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
SALARY:
Salary ranges are market based and established annually. Typically, selected candidates are hired at a salary rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on qualifications and experience.
Associate Electrical Engineer Minimum: $81,015 Midpoint: $98,635 Maximum: $116,256
Electrical Engineer Minimum: $92,056 Midpoint: $114,592 Maximum: $137,126
Senior Electrical Engineer Minimum: $105,196 Midpoint: $133,529 Maximum: $161,864
